Recent data from the White Paper on Health Management for Sub-Healthy Populations has garnered significant public attention: the prevalence of sub-health conditions among China's 30–44 age group has reached 62.8%, with issues such as neck, shoulder, back, and leg pain, insomnia, and weakened immunity being particularly prominent. Notably, the incidence among women is significantly higher than among men. At the same time, the Implementation Plan for Major Projects to Revitalize Traditional Chinese Medicine Development explicitly includes moxibustion in primary healthcare promotion programs. The convergence of policy support and consumer demand is propelling this 3,000-year-old TCM therapy into a trillion-yuan development track. Against this backdrop, the 2026 2nd Shanghai International Personal Wellness Expo will launch a dedicated "Traditional Chinese Medicine Moxibustion" section from March 18–20 in Hall H1 of the Shanghai World Expo Exhibition & Convention Center. This initiative aims to empower the industry through skill development and provide authoritative solutions for sub-health management.
Driven by both policy and market forces, the moxibustion industry is undergoing a transformative shift from "traditional experience" to "technology-enabled innovation." According to data from the Forward Industry Research Institute, China's moxibustion wellness market size had already exceeded 80 billion yuan by 2025, with a compound annual growth rate as high as 18.7%, and it is projected to officially enter the trillion-yuan market scale in 2026. From the widespread adoption of intelligent temperature-controlled moxibustion devices to the application of AI-based physique detection systems, and from community-embedded services to surging cross-border e-commerce exports, industrial upgrades are reflected not only in technological innovation but also in service standardization and diversified business models.

Coinciding with the 48th WorldSkills Competition to be held in Shanghai in 2026, which has sparked a social enthusiasm for craftsmanship, the moxibustion industry—as a prime example of the integration of TCM skills and technology—urgently requires an authoritative platform for resource integration and talent cultivation. The "Traditional Chinese Medicine Moxibustion" section of this expo was created to meet this need. Jointly organized by the Yangtze River Delta Alliance and East Best & Lansheng Convention & Exhibition Group Shanghai Jianzhi Exhibition Co., Ltd., this section centers on the core concept of "Empowering Everyone with Anti-Aging Capabilities" and innovatively establishes a "four-in-one" model comprising a conference, competition, training, and exhibition to achieve a closed-loop of industry value.
As the service provider for the WorldSkills Competition, East Best & Lansheng Convention & Exhibition Group will leverage its professional experience in event operations to provide solid support for this section. The section will cover an area of 2,000 square meters and is expected to attract over 50 leading industry exhibitors, drawing nearly 20,000 professional visitors on-site and fostering an exchange ecosystem spanning the entire industry chain.

Three Core Activities Enhancing the Section's Appeal
The "Six Orifices of TCM – Moxibustion Skills Competition" aims to promote skill development through competition. Contestants will compete in both theoretical knowledge and practical application of moxibustion. A judging panel led by a nationally renowned TCM master as chief advisor will ensure the competition's authority, and award-winning participants will be included in the industry talent pool.
From March 18–20, 2026, at Hall H1 of the Shanghai World Expo Exhibition & Convention Center, let us collectively witness the modern revival of the ancient art of moxibustion. Through the power of skill development, we can safeguard public health and infuse Traditional Chinese Medicine vitality into the broader wellness industry's upgrade.
